ABOUT ME:
I am the art teacher, Ms. Gerlach! It is my second year teaching elementary art in Medford, and my 5th year teaching art. From this art room website you can access student class codes, learning playlists, and your child's digital portfolio. Please click on your child's grade level to explore the classroom, and get connected. ART CURRICULUM:
Art Curriculum is divided into Units: Artist Identity, Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Life-Drawing, Ceramics, Fiber Arts, Collage/Found Object Art, and Color Theory. Each Unit will typically range from 3-5 weeks and you will find 1-2 projects per grade level which strive to teach WI Art Standards in a fun and cohesive way. CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:
Classroom expectations will be the same. We will review our Classroom Shield and continue to honor ourselves and others by being SAFE, showing RESPECT, being RESPONSIBLE, and of course having FUN!! ART ROOM ROUTINES: There are 7 routines we will use to keep our art room a fun and safe place to learn. We will work as a class to model them on the first days of class and again as necessary. 1. VIRTUAL ART EDUCATION:
Virtual playlists are available for students who may be working from home for various reasons. Each Playlist is broken into three elements. 1.) Learn About It (How to videos, presentation, story, worksheets) 2. ) Practice It (Using specific materials to show skill and knowledge pertaining to learning goals) 3.) Evidence of Learning (Submit completed artwork to teacher for viewing using Artsonia, our digital portfolio. |
